Sustainable Concreting

Prof. Faiz Shaikh Prof. Faiz Shaikh, Curtin University, WA, Australia

Prof. Faiz Shaikh is a distinguished academic at Curtin University, Australia, and an expert in sustainable civil engineering. Holding a PhD from the National University of Singapore (2005), he is a Fellow of Engineers Australia (FIEAust) and a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng.).

His pioneering research focuses on low-carbon concrete, geopolymer binders, and repurposing industrial and demolition wastes (such as fly ash and recycled glass) into eco-friendly pavement and building materials. A highly accomplished researcher, Prof. Shaikh has secured substantial competitive funding, collaborated widely with industry, and mentored 17 graduated research students. His prolific scholarly output includes two books with Springer and Elsevier and 223 journal papers. Reflecting his global research leadership, he commands an exceptional Google Scholar h-index of 73 with over 17,000 citations.

Net-Zero Building Ecosystem Lifecycle

Prof. Vivian W. Y. Tam Professor Vivian W. Y. Tam, Western Sydney University, NSW, Australia

Distinguished Professor Vivian W. Y. Tam is the Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and a world-leading researcher in the field of construction engineering and management. She is currently the Director for the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre in Digital Platforms for Net-Zero Building Ecosystem Lifecycle (NØBEL) at School of Built Environment and Design, Western Sydney University, Australia.

She is currently the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Construction Management. She has published over 500 referred journal articles of which 8 are highly-cited. Her work has been recognised by peers nationally and internationally, which has been exemplified by ten Australian Research Council projects and over 44,000 citations with a h-index over 114. Vivian is named as the Winner for the Excellence in Engineering or Information and Communication Technologies, 2025 NSW Premier’s Prizes for Science and Engineering, Office of the NSW Chief Scientist and Engineer and 100,000 Top-Scientists (Top 2% Scientists) in the World for since 2017.

Water Resources and River Engineering

Prof. Dr. Md. Shahjahan Ali Professor Dr. Md. Shahjahan Ali, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Bangladesh

Dr. Md. Shahjahan Ali is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Director of the Institute of Disaster Management at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Bangladesh. He is a pioneer expert in Water Resources and River Engineering in Bangladesh, with extensive experience in teaching, research, consultancy, and academic administration.

Dr. Ali has contributed significantly to international academic events, serving as Conference Chair of ICCESD-2022 and Conference Secretary of ICCESD-2012. He is also an experienced academic editor and served as Executive Editor of the Journal of Engineering Science (JES). He has published more than 75 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, supervised Eight Post-graduate degree including one PhD, and contributed to numerous research and consultancy projects.
